What the hell was wrong with these people? It was as though they didn’t see Fiona for the remarkable woman she truly was. Did they compare her to that stupid girl Celeste and find her wanting, simply because she had failed to shift? That didn’t bother me. I would protect my mate. I didn’t care that she didn’t have a wolf. I cared that she was my other half, a blessing from the moon goddess, and already I could see that she had a heart of gold. This family, it was going to be their loss when Fiona was gone.
