I feel as though I am growing further and further accustomed to her. I wish that I could make some small talk but it’s as though I have lost my voice, my mouth going dry. Why was she so quiet? Was she upset by the farewell her family had given her? I knew that my mother and father would no doubt accept her and even welcome her wholeheartedly into the pack. We pull into the driveway and I open the door, rushing around to open hers before she can get it open herself. She looks surprised by the gesture, but willingly takes my hand, allowing me to help her out. I opened the backseat and grabbed her luggage, handing the stuffed bear to her to hold. 1 motion towards the pack house, Fiona’s face beginning to smile widely as she takes in how large and well–maintained it is.
