“You should get some rest,” Norton said softly.

She nodded, softening as she took in the exhaustion lining his face. “Alright. Let’s both get some sleep. You need it more than I do.” He nodded back and leaned forward to tuck the blanket securely around her.

Her body, still weak and recovering, welcomed the warmth and comfort. Within minutes, she drifted back into sleep.

But even half-asleep, she sensed him there—his presence like a quiet sentinel at her side.

When she murmured something unintelligible in her sleep, Norton straightened instantly to scan her face for any signs of discomfort.
