Malvina stared at the screen, frozen. Her legs gave out slightly, and she dropped into her seat, dazed. It was over. She knew Morse wouldn’t let her off easily this time.

But Morse was done. “Heidi’s no longer with the company. And she’ll be reported to the authorities,” he said flatly. “As for you—this decision is final. There’s nothing more to say.”
