The conference room door swung open, and Vanessa strode in, flanked by a squad of bodyguards. She was dressed in a flowing white gown, her hair cascading down to her waist, exuding the poised elegance of someone born into high society.

Sophie hadn't seen Vanessa for a while; the last time was at her engagement party with Colby. Now, Vanessa took her seat across from Colby, surrounded by her entourage.
