Eric deliberately raised his voice so that Levi, who was cooking in the kitchen, would overhear it.

I noticed Levi marching out of the kitchen, carrying a pot in his hand and looking furious. "I'm staying with Jane because we have a lot of wo related stuff to discuss! You're overstepping your bounds here, Mr. Flint!”
