Chapter 1429

At the police station, Mr. Schuldt had already stationed himself at the entrance, knowing Sophie and Colby were on their way. When they pulled up, he wasted no time approaching them.

"Mr. Colby, ma'am, everything's set for your questioning," he greeted them.

"Thanks, Officer Derick," Sophie replied with a nod.

"Don't mention it. Please, follow me."

Mr. Schuldt led them to the interrogation room, where they found Colt sitting, handcuffed. After the last incident, James had brought Colt here. With Joseph no longer around, Colt was left without his usual protection. Considering all he knew about Joseph's shady dealings, it was no surprise he ended up here.

"Who else was involved with Joseph?" Sophie asked directly.

"Ms. Sophie, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at," Colt answered, maintaining his calm demeanor.

"Really? From the documents Joseph left behind, we've uncovered some leads. There's someone else besides Joseph pulling the strings. You were his right-hand man; surely you know."

"I honestly don't know," Colt chuckled. "I'm already here, what's the point in lying?"

"Colt, for the sake of our past acquaintance, if you name the mastermind, I promise a lighter sentence."
