"Where's Pierre?"

As far as Nicole was concerned, Pierre inhaled quite a bit of the sleeping agent he had tricked her into inhaling. She also had the presence of mind to wait till Julian rushed over before she lost her grasp on her consciousness as she passed out.

"Julian took him away. When he awakes, you can interrogate him. Once you're done, we'll drag him to the police station."

Colton lowered his head as he regarded Nicole, who was desperately latching onto his sleeve with whatever strength she could muster. She was weak, to begin with. Therefore, the sight of her propping herself up on the bed and anxiously pulling his sleeve with a pale face tugged at his heartstrings.

At this moment, she looked helpless and pitiful, which was one of the rare times she was so open with her emotions. He couldn't help but feel a little heartache when he saw her like this.

"Relax. I'll take care of the rest. Have a good rest. I'll bring you some soup," he reassured her gently as if he was comforting a child.

She sluggishly thought over his words, nodded, released her clutch on his sleeve, and lay back on the bed.

At the Phoenix Residence, Felicia and Jansen were up in arms. She even grabbed the photo and threw it on the floor. Her entire being shook with barely contained rage. "This is ridiculous! What a shameful disgrace! How dare he?!"

Jansen looked equally enraged. Back then, Emily suddenly brought a man home and insisted on marrying him.

At that time, Douglas had a terrible reputation. It was rumored that he liked men. So, they naturally assumed that Douglas was using Emily as a beard to ward off the rumors. Naturally, they vehemently disagreed with their daughter's decision.

"We must tell Em about this! I want her to divorce this prick!" Felicia bellowed angrily. She would never allow Emily to be wronged in such a way! Emily was so nice to him, but he betrayed her!
