Chapter 735

Queenie was shaken by what she heard, and she became a little dazed.

The lady's words earlier were like a knock to the head, waking her up and making her stagger.

She is right. If I am the young mistress of the Gardner Family, why would Colton insist on sending my father to jail?

Queenie closed her eyes, images of the wedding flashing through her mind. The man's marriage certificate held in his hand did contain their photo, and the red stamp ink appeared to be genuine as well. So, Colton has been playing with me all this while?

She almost went insane thinking about it, and she had to bite her lip tightly to keep herself from losing control.

Then, without saying anything further, she turned around and ran out.

I have to find out the truth from Colton! Things are definitely not as what they claimed earlier. I am Mrs. Gardner!

Suppressing the anxiety in her heart, Queenie quickly took a cab to Colton's house.

She knew where he lived and had even been there once or twice. In the past, she had secretly duplicated the keys and kept them with her all along. The keys turned out to be useful now.

When she arrived, she gripped the keys tightly in her palm, biting her lower lip. A glint of determination flashed across her eyes after a few moments of hesitation. I have to know the truth today!

Then, she straightaway used the keys she had to open the door. Fortunately for Queenie, Colton had not changed his lock over the years, and she was able to open the door simply by turning the keys slightly.

Before she could get inside the house, a playful voice rang out from the living room.

"Let's have some fries together tonight, Dad. Mom is bad; she never allows me to eat those things." The child's sweet voice had a coquettish tone to it.

Nicole's voice preceded Colton's. "That is not something you can have every day. You ate it yesterday, didn't you? Today we'll have rice."

"Dad!" Hearing that Nicole did not allow for fries, Hayden pouted and buried his face into Colton's embrace.

Colton, of course, couldn't stand Hayden acting so coquettishly at him that his heart softened immediately. "I'll get you some fries."

Nicole reprimanded him with a smile the moment he finished his words. "You can't give him everything he wants. He ate it yesterday. It is unhealthy for him to eat fries every day."

"It's fine for him to have it once in a while. He is my son, so of course I have to pamper him. I love him because I love you."

Queenie went into a trance and was unaware of what happened next. The only thing she remembered vividly was Colton telling Nicole he loved her.

What? Why?! I know Colton longer than she has, but she is the one who gets his love! Despite deceiving Colton in the past, I was the one who stayed by his side for the past five years!

Queenie's steps trembled as she thought of this.
