Seeing how polite Gabriel was being to Zachary, Evelyn reached out and yanked at her brother while expressing her dissatisfaction, saying, "Gabriel, why are you being so polite to him?"

Gabriel looked at her willful expression and replied in a low voice, "Evelyn, this is President Yates of the Yates Family. Watch your manners!"

She crossed her arms in front of her chest, seeming as though she wasn't afraid of anything in the world. Then, she snorted coldly. "It's just the Yates Group. Gabriel, there's no reason for us to be afraid of him!"

Her arrogant attitude immediately gave Gabriel a headache, and he couldn't help feeling slightly troubled by her behavior. Thus, he lowered his voice and redirected her attention. "Mom has woken up. Why don't you go and check on her?"

A wave of relief washed over Evelyn as soon as she heard that Siobhan was awake. Shooting a fierce glare at Nicole, she tossed her head and flounced away in a huff.

After Evelyn departed, Nicole finally asked, "Why was Madam Gould afflicted with a sudden fever? She was doing well before this. Did something happen?"

Gabriel frowned slightly when he heard the question. A moment of consideration later, he slowly answered, "Her blood fused too well with yours, resulting in a lack of antibodies in her body. That's why she is suffering from such a high fever. Fortunately, her fever has tapered down, and her condition is no longer serious. Miss Anderson, I'm sorry for troubling you to make this trip."

Nicole seemed slightly taken aback, but she nodded and said, "Oh, it's nothing. I've just been spending some time at home for the past few days anyway. I'm glad that Madam Gould is feeling better."

Nevertheless, a hint of doubt flashed through her eyes. Coming from a medical background, she knew that excessive blood fusion could only manifest among close relatives.

There was a certain chance for a recipient receiving a blood transfusion from immediate family members to have their blood become excessively fused. The recipient's body would not react to the foreign blood, resulting in a high fever due to a lack of antibodies. Such phenomena were not uncommon in medicine.

However, she had no kinship with Siobhan whatsoever. It was no secret that the Wrenn Family and the Gould Family were extremely rich and powerful. If the Anderson Family could form a connection with any one of those families, her father would have seized the opportunity a long time ago.

Seeing that there was no trace of displeasure on Nicole's face, Gabriel pondered for a moment before he explained. "When my mother came down with a high fever, the doctor mentioned that it might have been caused by an issue with the blood. That's why I asked you to come for a checkup today."

Nicole nodded to express her understanding. The reason behind his actions was understandable. The corners of her mouth lifted into a slight smile, and she quietly assured him. "I see. If you would like a sample of my blood, I will gladly cooperate."
