Chapter 557:

Richard’s face grew darker as the talk went on.

Rosanna was his beloved daughter; he couldn’t bear the thought of her being dragged into such rumors. “What rubbish are you all spouting? Rosanna is so sensible and level-headed. She’d never do such a thing.”

“Watch your words. Rosanna has a future marriage to think about.” Sandra’s voice trembled as she scanned the crowd but couldn’t spot Rosanna. Her heart raced.

Still, Sandra calmed herself, confident that she knew Rosanna well enough to trust that she wouldn’t do anything like this.

“Don’t fret, Mrs. Morgan. It’s definitely not Rosanna. I just spotted her on the terrace.” Mariana stepped forward to ease Sandra’s worries. “But I did see Maia walking toward the villa with a man.”

Hearing that, Richard and Sandra visibly relaxed.

But Claudius’ and Vince’s faces were already dark with disbelief, their eyes fixed on the door.

“Didn’t you speak up sooner?” Claudius snapped at Mariana, then raised his leg and kicked the door hard. Vince followed suit with a kick of his own.
