Chapter 732 So Be It

Giving birth had not been a pleasant one for Meryl. In fact, it had left her with lingering trauma.

Some memories take time to heal, and this was one of them.

When Meryl said she didn’t want to have another child, Chandler felt a sharp pang of discomfort.

She had been willing to bear Dalton’s child, but now she didn’t

want one with him.

The thought weighed heavily on his heart.

He took a moment to reflect. Perhaps Meryl was still upset with

him.

His original intention in marrying her had been to keep the woman he loved close, to cherish and protect her.

But now, his absence during her time of greatest need had strained their relationship to the point where she no longer wanted to have his child.

Chandler sighed and said, “Alright, if you don’t want to have a child right now, we won’t rush into it.”

He pulled Meryl close, pressing her against his chest in a tight embrace.

“I still have some work to finish. Stay with me while I take care of it.”

He opened his laptop and gestured for Meryl to sit on the sofa.

Exhausted from the stress of finally having her son back, Meryl felt her energy drain away.

She curled up on the sofa, her eyelids growing heavier by the minute.

Before long, Meryl’s phone on the table buzzed with a new

message.

Chandler glanced over and saw that Meryl had fallen asleep. He gently covered her with a blanket.

As he did, his eyes flicked to her phone screen.

It was a message from Anne: [Not bad. You’re planning to leave…]

The rest of the message was cut off.

Chandler had a sinking feeling in his chest. He looked down at Meryl’s peaceful sleeping face, his expression clouded with

unease.

Lightly brushing his fingers over her brow, he whispered, “Meryl, what are you planning?”

When Meryl woke up, she was surprised to find that it was already morning.
