Chapter 742 Make It Happen

Rachel never expected Christopher to know Andy. Then again, it wasn’t that surprising. The Powell family’s business had never exactly been clean, and now that Andy was a drug dealer, it wasn’t out of the question that they had some dealings.

A shadow flickered in Rachel’s eyes. “So you’re saying–you can get in touch with Andy?”

Christopher hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. “I can’t reach him.”

In their line of work, everything operated on a need–to–know basis for safety. Last time, Christopher had already crossed a line by pulling strings to contact Andy just to save Rachel. That connection had since been severed.

And Andy had paid a heavy price for it. Word had it that several of his people had been arrested that night, and he himself had suffered serious injuries. No one knew where he was now.

But that wasn’t unusual–someone like Andy always had multiple escape routes, constantly moving to stay out of sight. The police were still hunting him down.

“But if you want to find him, I can use the Powell family’s influence to help,” Christopher coaxed softly.

By now, Rachel had calmed down from her initial wave of

emotions. She knew full well that there was no such thing. Christopher wouldn’t offer his help without expecting something in return.

But this wasn’t something she could let Chandler find out about. Right now, if she wanted to find Andy, Christopher was her only option. With that thought, Rachel suddenly leaned into Christopher’s arms. “Thank you. Does your face still hurt?”

She hadn’t held back with that slap earlier. His cheek was still red and swollen. Christopher froze, stunned that Rachel would take the initiative to get close to him.

His heart pounded wildly. He quickly wrapped his arms around her, shaking his head. “It doesn’t hurt. Rachel, I knew you still cared about me.” As he spoke, he pressed in closer, tilting his head to kiss her.

Rachel felt the warmth on her cheek and curled her fingers slightly. Disgust churned inside her, but she didn’t push him away. Her expression remained unnervingly calm.

Christopher, lost in his own world, didn’t notice. “Once you reunite with Andy, let’s get married, okay?” He cupped her face, his voice eager. “I swear, I’ve been dreaming of marrying you.”
