Allison took a bite, savoring it with an approving nod. “Perfect. Mr. Lloyd, is there anything you can’t do? You’re a master of both boardrooms and breakfast tables. I think I’m getting spoiled.”

A slow smile spread across his face as he heard her compliments. “In that case, I’ll make sure you never find anyone else’s cooking as good as mine.”

He handed her a glass of warm milk. “Drink up. Fuel for the day ahead. I’ll whip up some cereal, too.”

Allison leaned over and planted a light kiss on the corner of his mouth. “Thank you.”

Just then, a loud, relentless banging erupted from outside the villa.
