They hurried to the underground parking lot. Allison glanced at Mollie, concern etched on her features. “Are you sure you’re okay handling this without Mr. Blake’s help?” Mollie’s reply was laced with a hint of steel. “Don’t worry. If I were in Charles’ position, I’d not only handle it—I’d thrive. He, however, wouldn’t last a day in my shoes.” Allison couldn’t help but admire Mollie’s resilience.

Although she didn’t know the full extent of the conflict between Mollie and her husband, it was clear that Mollie, the woman Verruckt had sent her to see, was no pushover.
