Chapter 916:

Even though Kellan had tried to protect her during the fall, her injuries had reopened. The pain was unbearable. Blood spilled from her and stained the grass.

Half-conscious, Allison whispered, “Let’s… let’s get out of here first.” But she couldn’t even manage to stand. Kellan picked Allison up off the ground, completely ignoring his own pain.

His hands were covered in blood.

When he realized this, his voice trembled with emotion.

“Allison, stay with me. Don’t fall asleep. We’ll be home soon.”

But Allison’s mind was slipping. Kellan’s voice sounded far away, like it was coming through a fog, hard to make out.

She fought to stay awake.
