He Doesn't Want A Family

Three months.

That's how long it has been since Hera had that conversation with Bryce and since then, there had been a lot of changes. True to his words, he had helped her. He didn't judge her as much as she had thought he would and was very kind enough to show her the ropes of how everything was done. He was very patient with her even though she made a lot of mistakes. Now while he was busy with work, she was taking lessons and he helped her in any way that he could.

Christina on the other hand was also making significant progress. She was taking her lessons very seriously and if all goes well then she'd be writing her final exams to get prepared for college. Hera made sure to speak to her whenever she had the chance to. Christina was smart and Hera was very confident that her sister would definitely ace her papers.

She had always been the brain of the family. Not like Hera was bad herself. She knew that her sister would go through any length to finish strong because asides her, she had always wanted this for herself and now the opportunity had presented itself. "That's the fifth chocolate bar you've had in the space of two hours Cara." Bryce pointed out to her when he saw her bite on it. "Too much sweet isn't good for your health and you know that." He scolded her teasingly.

"I know." She drawled with a tiny pout. "It's just so good and eating it makes me stay focused on what I'm working on."

He chuckled. "And since when do you consume this much chocolate? You're not usually the type to eat this much sweets on a stretch. I'm getting scared for you now Cara."

"Fine. I promise that i won't have any more after this one." She raised it up for him to see but deep down, he knew that she would. She had done the same yesterday when she almost emptied out a large bowl of ice cream from the fridge in front of him. "Alright." He said instead. "I'll be leaving now. Mariam will handle everything when I'm gone and if you need anything, anything at all, then feel free to call me okay?"

"What if you're busy with work?"

"I'm never too busy when it comes to you." He kissed her forehead and then her lips before leaving. Hera saw him off and minutes later, he was gone.

"Good morning Hera." Mariam greeted her warmly. "You look positively radiant this morning that i almost didn't recognize you."

Hera giggled like a little child. "Good morning Ma'am. How are you doing today?"

"Pretty good. I see that sir has left for work."

Hera nodded politely. "Yes he has."

"Bryce is so keen of you Hera. He's changed a lot these past few months. Whatever you're doing must be working." The older woman praised her heartily. "It's rare to see him like this. Very happy and i love it for him."
