The Darkest Hour

Hera had mixed feelings seeing Nella standing in front of her. Why was she here? Her mind told her that it was one of two things. It was either she came looking for Bryce or Bryce had asked her to come. She didn't want to believe in the latter because he would never do

that to her.

He had promised that he wouldn't hurt her so there's no way he would invite her here or did he?

"Hera right?" Nella had asked and Hera only nodded, wondering how she knew her name because if she recalled properly, they've never really had a proper one on one conversation and they've never crossed paths. Did Bryce tell Nella about her perhaps? "Where's your boss?" She had asked and Hera was tight-lipped. She doesn't really address him as her boss anymore and she doesn't know how to tell her that. For the longest of time, she called him by his name as he had requested and it had remained so since then. "Bryce isn't at home."

Nella arched a brow at her, stunned. Since when did Bryce agree to formality between himself and a maid? He was not the type to do that so she found it hard to believe. "Bryce? You call him by his first name?"

"Yes and he's at work. You missed him not too long ago." She informed her. Nella was too shocked to speak. She had come here to reason things out with him and talk to him about them. She didn't want to take the risk of getting embarrassed at his office so she decided to come here and now he wasn't here.

For days, she had been struggling to get through to him but it seemed like he had blocked her everywhere. He was really serious when he told her that it was over. She couldn't believe that he had moved on so quickly without batting an eyelid. She couldn't even show up at his place without giving it a lot of thoughts. It sucks! He was treating her like trash and she hated it.

She was his friend for goodness sake! The person who had stayed with him when he was fighting his demons during the darkest hour. She had given him a piece of herself to the point where there was nothing else to give so why couldn't he choose her? Why couldn't he love her?

"Are you okay ma'am?" Hera had asked when she noted how silent she had become but she only shrugged it off.

"You're the maid working here so I'm pretty sure you know everything that's going on around here right?" She questioned but Hera found it hard to answer that question. She wasn't just a maid anymore. Bryce had told her that.

"Has anyone been coming over to see him?" She asked. "What i mean to say is that...um...does Bryce have any lady friend or woman that he is intimate with?"

Hera corked a brow at her, confused. Was she indirectly talking about her or someone else?
