"I've known for months. More than a year, actually," Mrs. Walker replied softly. "I just.. I didn't want to force it. I wanted you. to trust me enough to tell me yourself."
Emma bit her lip, the words tangled up in her throat. She didn't know where to start, how to explain the painful memories she had locked away. Mrs. Walker's gaze held hers, patient and kind, and after a heavy sigh, Emma felt the floodgates open.
"You're free to tell me everything." Mrs. Walker said gently, reaching out to squeeze Emma's hand. "I won't judge you Emma. I'm so grateful you're here, and so lucky to have met you when I did."
With tears beginning to blur her vision, Emina finally spoke, the pain and bitterness she had buried for years spilling out She shared everything about her relationship with Alexander... the betrayal, the heartbreak, the loss.
