Calvin was bewildered when he received a notification that his membership card was invalidated. He called to ask but was told curtly that he had offended someone.

Calvin smashed his phone angrily. 'How could I explain to Dad? he thought. They got most of their family businesses because they had Vilzell's membership. His father would be furious.

Calvin thought about it. He couldn't recall offending anyone important lately, except for ditching Elvira. He thought, 'It can't be her. If Elvira were capable, she couldn't have suffered for so many years. Thinking about Zach, Calvin felt uncomfortable. Zach was intimidating but Calvin refused to think he was capable.
