Chapter 49

Chapter 49:

Eileen suddenly turned to face Kian, whose expression was deceptively calm as if he were making a casual remark. But that was a clear threat.

Kian’s smile was bright as he spoke. “From now on, Vivian will assist you with your tasks. Whenever you find some spare time, I’d like you to focus on training Bailee more. The fewer mistakes she makes, the fewer penalties she’ll face.”

After making his point, Kian glanced at his watch and arched an eyebrow. “You finished your tasks early today, but unfortunately, Bailee won’t be available for any lessons now. She’s gone to the bar with Benjamin to discuss a partnership. She’ll likely go home late.”

Eileen’s voice was strained as she said, “Mr. Warren, you can come to me if you have any dissatisfactions. Bailee is still young.”

The elevator dinged to signal their floor, but neither of them made a move to exit. Kian adjusted his tie and flashed another smile. “What are you worried about? I’ll ensure Bailee is well looked after for your sake. However, bear in mind that Benjamin is known for his—”

How utterly ridiculous! There was no way that Kian wouldn’t be able to control Benjamin Nash, considering that he was Kian’s assistant.

Eileen couldn’t help but respond with a hint of sarcasm, “Well, thank you, Mr. Warren.”

She and Benjamin had been classmates in college, constantly competing and achieving similar grades, earning them the reputation of arch-rivals throughout their college days. After graduation, they lost touch. They both made a name for themselves and became notable figures in the industry.

Eileen turned to leave. She entered her car and immediately dialed Bailee. After a few rings, Bailee answered the call.
