Chapter 101

Chapter 101:

Eileen’s voice carried a soft and tender warmth that made Bryan’s body tense.

Bryan opened the car door, lifted Eileen in his arms, and got out of the car.

Once inside the house, he placed her gently on the cabinet at the entrance. Pressing her against the cabinet, he kissed her passionately.

He kissed her everywhere, starting from the corners of her eyes, down to the tip of her nose, and onto her collarbone.

He was intimately familiar with her body; almost every move he made sent shivers through her.

Eileen’s mind was in a daze, barely hearing him whisper in her ear, “Eileen, I miss you.”

But she couldn’t muster the strength to reply. She was entirely caught up in his touch.

They had gotten back to the house at six in the evening, and he eventually released her at nine.

After showering, Bryan slipped into the pants he had left there and went to the kitchen to cook while Eileen was resting on the couch.

But as Bryan opened the fridge, he found it empty.

Seeing his puzzled look, Eileen hurried over, feeling a bit embarrassed. “I’ve been so swamped with work that I’ve been grabbing dinner out late; I haven’t cooked in ages,” she explained.

“Is your work exhausting?” Bryan shut the refrigerator door and turned toward her.

The kitchen lights were off. Bryan’s dark eyes caught the light from the living room.

Eileen flushed and smiled. “A bit, but I can handle it.”

Bryan didn’t continue the topic. “What would you like to eat? I’ll go get something.”

“If it’s okay with you, I’ve got instant noodles here,” Eileen replied. It was late, and a trip to the store would take too much time.

She walked to the cabinet and took out several packets of instant noodles.

Bryan looked at the packets in her hand for a moment before saying, “Okay.”

What surprised Eileen later was that Bryan didn’t leave after they ate; he stayed the night.

Then, she discovered that he had only taken a break at nine to regain his energy for the night ahead.

Before they went to sleep, Eileen watched Bryan silence his phone and inform Harlan that he wouldn’t be tutoring the next day.

But their sleep was still disrupted by a knock on the door at ten in the morning.

Eileen got up and peered out the window, spotting Bailee and Huey outside.

She suddenly recalled her plans to visit Ruby with Bailee every weekend. Glancing at her phone, she noticed she had missed over ten calls.

As she was processing this, Bailee typed in the password and let herself in.
