Loving Mom 250

Chapter 250

Kelly stared at the black pill in Sharon’s hand. A flicker of hesitation crossed her face.

Taking medicine when she wasn’t even sick-what if it messed up her body?

Nate, for once, had a rare flash of clarity. “Sharon, just because you say it’s life-saving medicine doesn’t make it so. What if it’s poison? What if it actually hurts Kelly?”

He turned to Sharon, eyes sharp. “Why don’t you try it first? If it’s fine, then Kelly can take it.”

Without a word, Sharon retracted the pill.

A cold laugh slipped from her lips. “What is this, the Middle Ages? We’re still doing poison testing now? This is a society governed by law. Poisoning someone is a crime. Do you really think I’d kill her right in front of you?

“If anything does happen to her, the hospital would find out right away. Do you think I could just walk away from that? If you don’t trust me, take the medicine to a lab. Run every test you want.”

She paused, eyes narrowed.

“Do you all really think I’m Kelly’s servant? That I’d test poison for her like it’s nothing? Who do you think you’re insulting here? Take the damn pill or don’t-makes no difference to me. But if she gets worse because of your indecision, that’s on you. Don’t turn around and blame me.”
