Loving Mom 352

Chapter 352

Bob and the other two boys stood frozen, stunned-like they’d been hit by something invisible but heavy.

Even Theo just stared, wide-eyed.

These three were supposed to be scary and tough. But Matty wasn’t scared at all?

Matty must’ve felt Theo’s gaze. He turned his head, looked right at him—his dark eyes sharp, filled with something cold. Something close to contempt.

Then, he said, “Coward.”

It hit Theo like a punch to the chest.

He wanted to argue-wanted to scream that he wasn’t. That he had stood up for his mom. He had tried.

But what could he say? He couldn’t fight them. He couldn’t stop the other kids from turning their backs on him.
