Winnie inspected the photo carefully again. Just like Mason had pointed out, there was a banner on the ground at the left of the photo. The writing on the banner was in the Chanaean language.

Mountains could be seen in the distance behind Greta. The buildings at the foot of the mountains portrayed the architectural style of Chanaea.

“You’re right,” Winnie affirmed. “This looks like Chanaea. Is Greta Chanaean?”

“I don’t know.” Mason shook his head. “We’re outlaws. I don’t ask about her past if she doesn’t bring it up. Please help me find her. I beg you. I’ll do anything for you in return. Even my own life is at your disposal!”

From the way he had carefully wrapped the photo up in plastic before keeping it safely in his pocket, Winnie could see that Mason’s feelings for Greta were quite deep.

Winnie herself had a good impression of Greta. Because of that, she was willing to help Mason out.

However, before she could agree, she received a text from Lisanne.

Lisanne: Winnie, help him but negotiate with him. Didn’t you tell me that Greta had been in the same car with Christopher the entire time? She didn’t go to the balcony after that, and she disappeared after you guys left. Christopher’s body was also never found. I have a feeling that these two cases are related. Perhaps Christopher didn’t die! Perhaps she had taken him away!

When Winnie saw the message Lisanne sent, her brows inched together into a frown.

She had witnessed Christopher’s fall onto the roof of the car with her own eyes. How could he have survived a fall from such an immense height?

Winnie brushed Lisanne’s theory off, deciding that Lisanne was just in denial of the fact that Christopher had sacrificed himself.

However, she would not deny the possibility that Greta had taken Christopher’s body away.

At that thought, Winnie immediately helped Mason up. “Let’s have a seat before discussing this further. I’ll agree to help you look for Greta in Chanaea, but there’s something that I need to ask you.”

“All right. Just ask me anything.”

Winnie nodded slightly. “I’m sure that you’re aware of the fact that your subordinates are helping me to look for my friend’s body?”
