Mike felt tempted by what she said.He blamed himself for not thinking about that sooner.He had gradually lost his nerve to fight back, probably because they had forced him to do their bidding for too long. He had become so afraid of the organization that he did not even consider the possibility of kidnapping its members and holding them hostage.
