“He’s finally cracked,” Grayson declared to me.

The wolf he’d been starving for weeks has finally cracked. Grayson had kept him alive but starved, healthy but ravenous, he finally broke after weeks of a meal just out reach.

I walked down to the cells with him. I would stay out sight but I wanted to listen, I wanted to know. If he was willing to talk and tell us how we could keep this life of ours together.
