The nursing assistant opened the door, and the two entered the room.

Inside the VIP ward, everything was immaculate. A woman lay in bed, her delicate features contrasting with her pale complexion. Tubes ran from her hand to a nearby IV. As Millie looked at her, a flicker of recognition crossed her mind.

After a moment of pondering, Millie identified the woman as Rylie, whom she had briefly met at Claudia’s birthday party.

Suddenly, Millie’s eyes caught sight of a man’s coat in the corner trash can. It struck her that the coat might belong to Marcus, and perhaps he had brought his wife here to explain why his coat ended up on another lady.

Rylie gradually opened her eyes upon hearing the noise. Surprise washed over her when she saw who it was, and she slowly sat up.
