Chapter 954 Trap Of The Enchantress

As her words fell, a dim light flickered in her eyes.

The child that had slipped away ultimately left an indelible scar on her heart.

Sensing a shift in her emotions, Zeke quietly wrapped his arms around her, whispering into her ear, “Once we've rid you of the poison, we can try for another child.”

Juliana awkwardly pushed him away.

Even now, I still find it somewhat unsettling when the man takes the initiative to approach me.

She would actually prefer to face who he was in the past rather than his current attentiveness.

After all that she had been through, her mindset had matured, and she gained a deeper understanding of love between men and women.

To put it plainly, she used to be unabashed, but now she had learned to be reserved.

Seeing her silent, Zeke added, “We'll have a few more children. The Shurmer family has a large business to manage, and it'll be a bit difficult for one person to shoulder the burden. By having a few more siblings, they can support each other, so they won't end up as exhausted as I am.”

Juliana bit her lip tightly, her face flushed with anxiety.

Luckily, the emergency room door opened just in time. Otherwise, she would have surely succumbed to the immense pressure.

Artemis was the first to rush to the door, anxiously asking, “What's going on? What's the situation?”

The female doctor responded respectfully, “Ms. Bailey is in poor health, with low immunity. The high alcohol content has irritated her stomach and intestines, causing her to vomit uncontrollably. But it's not a big deal. A couple of days of rest, and she'll be fine. However, she needs to take care of her health in the future and absolutely must avoid drinking alcohol.”

So, it's not a pregnancy, just a stomach injury.

Artemis was stunned for a couple of seconds, but he didn't feel much disappointment.

From the very beginning, he had said that having a son and a daughter in this life was more than enough.

Otherwise, vasectomy wouldn't even cross his mind.

It was her insistence on having a second child that he went along with.

If she couldn't get pregnant, that would be even better.

He didn't want her to go through any more pain.

“All right. I understand. I'll definitely keep that in mind. May I go in to see her now?”

The female doctor stepped aside and smiled. “Ms. Bailey also thought she was pregnant. Now that the results are out, she said it was all a false alarm. She's not in the best of spirits right now. Mr. Luther, perhaps you could go in and comfort her. It would be a good opportunity to persuade her against getting pregnant, as her current health isn't quite suitable.”

Artemis nodded, quietly taking note of the doctor's instructions.

If a little bit of alcohol makes her throw up like this, what will happen if she gets pregnant in the future and has severe morning sickness? Won't she be throwing up every day?

That woman even concealed her health condition.

It seems like I need to bring a medical team here to watch over her around the clock.

Walking into the ward, he saw Bailey leaning against the head of the bed with a disgruntled expression on her face. He couldn't help but laugh.

“You're still not satisfied? You've caused such a ruckus that the entire manor can't find peace. Everyone's revolving around you. What right do you have to be upset?”

Bailey huffed. “I thought I was pregnant, but it turned out I wasn't. D*mn it. The heavens are always playing tricks on me.”

Artemis found it somewhat amusing. He paced over to the bedside and gently pinched her cheek. “Take care of your health first. Otherwise, don't even think about getting pregnant.”

Bailey slightly furrowed her brows, casting a displeased glance at him.

“You didn't do something sneaky, did you? Did you take some medicine? Or did you put on some kind of protection? Come clean.”

Artemis clenched his teeth tightly, glaring at her fiercely.

“If I had taken medicine, do you really think I could hide it from you, the renowned doctor, Anonymous? Won't you be able to tell if I'm wearing any protection when I'm having my way with you?”

Bailey narrowed her eyes and glanced at him, clearly skeptical. After getting off the bed, she pointed at the spot where he had just been lying, “Lie down. I need to check.”

Artemis stopped speaking and directly lunged at her.

“You seem to be in high spirits, so let's ride on this buzz and continue to have some fun.”

“All right, then.” Not only did Bailey not avoid him, but she actually took the initiative to embrace him.

Artemis belatedly realized that he had fallen into the trap of this enchantress.

Before he could react, she had already exerted dominance over him.

What followed was a series of actions taken to the extreme passion.

Even with his abundant patience, he couldn't withstand her relentless initiatives.

With the intoxicating scent of alcohol emanating from her, all his reason and restraint went out the window.

“Honey, take it easy, take it easy...”

All sounds came to an abrupt halt.

Outside the infirmary.

Simon and the rest had just come out when they bumped into Ken, who was walking toward them.

“Mr. Simon, where is Mr. Luther? I have urgent matters to discuss with him.”

Ken was Artemis' personal bodyguard. If he said there was an urgent matter, then there must be one in hand.

Simon didn't dare to cause any delay either. He quickly pointed behind him. “He's in there with Mrs. Luther. You should go find him.”

“Thank you,” responded Ken before striding toward the infirmary.

As he was passing by Catherine, the latter reached out and stopped him.

“If there's nothing particularly urgent, it's best not to disturb Mr. Luther. He's with Mrs. Luther...”

She didn't finish the rest of her sentence. Those who understand will understand. As for those who don't, well, there's nothing I can do about it.

I surely can't explain it so bluntly in front of so many people, can I?

As expected, Ken didn't understand.
