Molly stared at Chad, totally confused. "Seriously, which one of us is the slacker here? I was just chillin' inside, didn't even step out to the backyard.'

Chad, with a hint of a serious vibe, replied, "Remember our sister, the forensic pathologist? She just cracked a case involving someone who spent every night glued to their phone..." "Alright, alright, bro. Enough with the lecture. I'm putting the phone down and heading to bed."

Molly plugged in her phone and had barely gotten comfortable in bed when Chad walked over, unplugged her charger with a stern look, and plugged it in near her vanity. "Bro, you really that overprotective?"

Chad shot back, "Whose life do you think I'm protecting?"

Molly bit her lip. Hers.

The care and love Chad had for her were clear as day, yet Molly could never quite get her feelings across to him.

Before they got married, she would loudly proclaim her love for him to anyone listening. But since then, Chad hadn't heard a single confession from her.

He was never sure where he stood with Molly.

Did she love him? Maybe. But what kind of love did she have for him?

Sometimes, as Chad watched her, exhausted and dozing off beneath him, he wondered. Did she marry him for the stability he offered, or because she had no other way to face her parents?

To him, it seemed the only time he felt she truly belonged to him was in those moments of passion. Her heart might be a mystery, but her body never lied.

Feeling uneasy under Chad's intense gaze, Molly blurted, "Chad, quit staring at me like that. It's freaking me out."

Chad's hand gently found its way to the top of Molly's head. "Molly, do you love me?"

Molly was taken aback. Love? This again?

Chad persisted, "Do you love me or not?"

Molly was wary. Had she fallen into another one of Chad's traps? She hedged, "What are you getting at?"
