After the nurse left, Officer Chad sat next to his wife, clutching the medical report with hands that trembled slightly. Molly noticed folks passing by, sneaking glances at her and the man in the police uniform beside her. She felt too timid to speak, and Chad's icy demeanor wasn't helping either.

The two of them looked more like a cop escorting a criminal for a hospital check-up than a married couple. Yet, appearance-wise, they seemed like a perfect match.
