Chapter 901

Madison stepped into the room to find her daughter, Mia, amidst a chaotic spread of books on her desk. She was casually flipping through them. "Hey, sweetie, I thought we could have a little chat," she said.

"Let me guess, Henry sent you over, didn't he?" Mia asked, knowing her mother all too well. "Henry probably just fell asleep. My husband's worried about me and figured sending you over would help. If you really wanted to chat, you would've come by earlier, not in the dead of night."

Mia glanced over a book's table of contents, then set it aside and picked up an English workbook, trying to focus on the exercises.

Madison smiled, settling down next to her daughter. "You really do know us well."

"Well, I know Andre pretty well. And I'm sure Henry got a scolding from his dad for staying up past ten. If he doesn't go to bed, dad's sure to give him a hard time," Mia teased, a touch of affection in her voice. "I cried earlier, which must've really bothered my husband. He's probably worried about me feeling upset."

Madison nodded, "I'm here to listen, honey. What's on your mind?"

Mia closed her workbook, her thoughts drifting as she gazed into the night outside. "You know, it's kind of nice. When I was feeling lost, thinking about being a full-time housewife, our family sat together and helped me find a clear path. I'm sure it's the right one for me." She continued, "Mom, our family might not be as big as the Cedillos, but we're doing quite well." Then, she veered off onto a tangent. "Mom, Cooper and I know you and dad are well-off. You just keep the business stuff from us so we don't turn into spoiled brats." Madison chuckled, "Let's stick to the topic, dear."

"Right, right. So, our family's into business, and so is my husband's. Their empire's big enough they keep things low-key, even thinking about letting the Calder family and others handle some of it. In the future, Cooper's bound to take over. Molly's expected to do the same. Leo's already showing his entrepreneurial skills, branching out even if it's in cybersecurity. Mom, haven't you noticed? Despite our big families, we're all in business except for my eldest brother and Chad, who are in public service."

Madison had to agree with her daughter's observation.

"A family relying on one line of business is risky. A little storm could bring it down. Back when our family was smaller, and Leo had the inheritance weight on his shoulders, we kept things focused. But now, there's room to diversify. I think we should spread into different fields, become top talents in various industries. None of us have tackled law, so why not? I could study it for fun, no pressure from you, and who knows, maybe it'll lead somewhere."
