Early the next morning.

Hansen got bundled into the car by his son and daughter-in-law and whisked off to the hospital.

It was time for his annual senior checkup, and Andre stuck by his dad's side the

whole way.

Henry had his own appointment too-unfortunately, that meant a blood test.

As if fate was having a laugh, Hansen needed his blood drawn as well.

So there they were: grandpa and grandson, sitting shoulder to shoulder at the lab counter. "Henry first," the nurse said.

Henry watched, eyes huge, as a needle pricked another kid's arm. He

immediately shrank back, clutching his own arm, looking like he was ready to bolt. "No, no, no~"

Andre scooped him up quickly. "Come on, let's show Grandpa how brave you are. My boy's the toughest, right?"

But Henry shook his head like a drum. He was ready to make a break for it.
