Chapter 244 Silvia Faints
Because there was a fire in the entire building, and it happened at night when many people had already fallen asleep, there were many people who were injured. The hospital immediately got crowded, with people coming and going.
Screams and shouts could be heard everywhere. The hospital hall was in chaos.
Silvia shuttled back and forth. With Simon walking by her side and Freddie walking ahead of them, they soon found Winnie.
Winnie wasn’t seriously injured. There were burns on her arm and face. She also hurt her knees and ankles when she ran out. But compared to the others, she was already very lucky.
However, while Winnie was fine, her mother was in a bad condition.
Winnie’s mother had been sent into the operating room and was not out of danger. Winnie stood at the door of the operating room with tears all over her face.
“Winnie!” Silvia saw Winnie at a glance in the distance and quickly walked over.
“Silvia, Silvia…” Winnie ran to Silvia as soon as Winnie saw Silvia. “My mother is…”
“It’s OK. She’ll be fine!” Silvia heard about what happened and comforted Winnie softly. In fact, Silvia was not sure about it.
Silvia looked Winnie up and down and made sure that Winnie wasn’t seriously injured. Then Silvia heaved a sigh of relief. “It’s good that you are fine! I believe that your mom will also be fine.”
“My mom protected me. She woke up first and then woke me up. But the fire was too big and she was smashed by the wood to protect me. It was me. It was all because of me…”
Winnie kept muttering and what she said didn’t make much sense. One could imagine how strongly the fire impacted her.
Silvia gently touched Winnie with her shoulder. Silvia could understand the pain and misery that Winnie was going through
The surgery was still ongoing. Simon did not persuade Silvia to go back and take a rest. Simon asked Freddie to buy
some snacks and hot drinks. However, no one was in the mood to eat or drink at this time. The atmosphere was heavy.
In the hall of the hospital, some were slightly injured, and others had broken arms and legs. There were also people dying. Shouts and cries could be heard.
Silvia kept her distance. It was so miserable that she could not bear to see it.
In a short while, the lights in the operating room went out, and the doctor came out to take off his mask. Winnie immediately rushed over. “Doctor, how is my mom? Is the surgery successful?”
The doctor glanced at her, sighed, and shook his head. “I’m sorry, we…”
“No, it’s not possible!” Before the doctor could finish, he was interrupted by Winnie. She shook her head and stepped back. “Impossible. My mother will be fine. She will be fine!”
“Her spleen was broken and she bled too much. I’m sorry. We have tried our best.”
When the doctor was finished, the bed inside had been pushed out, and the person lying on it was covered with a white cloth.
Winnie didn’t say anything. She looked at the bed blankly and refused to step forward.
Simon noticed that Silvia’s face was also very pale. Her eyes were fixed on the bed and the white cloth. Her hands were even trembling slightly.
“No, no…”
Winnie took two steps back and stopped. As if she wanted to prove that the doctor was wrong, she stepped forward again and reached out to remove the white cloth.
However, her hand was shaking so wildly that she couldn’t even hold the cloth. Freddie was at the side. He stepped forward and removed the white cloth for her, revealing a haggard face stained with blood.
“No!”
In that instant, Winnie burst into tears. “Mom…”
Silvia only felt a splitting pain in her head.
It was as if Winnie’s shout had dug out something buried deep in Silvia’s memory. Something was surging in her mind. She couldn’t bear it. Her head hurt very much, as if it was going to explode. She couldn’t see anything clearly and felt dizzy.
“Silvia, Silvia…”
Simon had been paying attention to her reaction. Seeing that something was wrong with Silvia, Simon hugged her in his arms and talked to her.
Winnie cried so hard that she couldn’t pay attention to anything else. But Silvia had already fainted.
“Freddie, take care of Winnie,” Simon said calmly.
Freddie nodded and silently stood by Winnie’s side. He gently placed his hands on her shoulders and supported her.
Simon held Silvia up and went straight to the doctor. “Doctor, someone fainted!”
“You’ll kill your parents.”
“You caused their deaths!”
“Why are you still alive while they are dead? It’s all your fault!”
“Dad. Mom. Don’t leave me. Don’t…”
“Dad. Mom…”
Many voices could be heard as if people were talking. But it sounded like they weren’t talking to Silvia.
She saw countless images, but she could not recognize who those people were. There were loud noises, flames, fragments, and bloody faces. Everything seemed so close. But she couldn’t see them clearly.
“Dad. Mom. Don’t leave me..”
“No!”
Silvia shouted and suddenly opened her eyes, only to see the white ceiling above her.
The white ceiling diluted the horror in her dream. She gasped and her face was covered with sweat.
“You are awake.” A familiar voice rang. Silvia turned her head and saw Simon’s worried look. “Did you have a nightmare?”
Seeing him, she calmed down. She nodded and felt her throat was extremely dry. “Water…”
Simon immediately handed her the water that was already prepared. She was like a traveler in the desert who had been thirsty for many days. She gulped it down and soon finished a cup of water.
“Do you want more?” he asked.
Silvia shook her head and lay down weakly.
She thought about the dream. However, there were many things that she couldn’t recall. She had a faint feeling that what happened in her dream should have happened to her. However, somehow she just could not recall.
To be exact, if it wasn’t for the accident today, she couldn’t have thought of anything that happened in the dream.
“The doctor said you just fainted because you were stimulated. You will be fine when you wake up! How do you feel?” Simon asked softly as he gently stroked her hair.
“I’m fine.” She shook her head and thought of his words. “By the way, how is Winnie?”
“She’s fine. Freddie is accompanying her. Her mother has already been pushed to the morgue and the funeral will be prepared later,” he said briefly. But his company meant a lot to her.
“…” Silvia sighed. She was speechless. She came here to comfort Winnie, but she was the one who fainted.
“That’s not your fault. No one will blame you. Winnie also understands it. Don’t overthink. Take care of yourself and have a good rest. You’ll stay here today for observation. You’ll be discharged tomorrow as long as you are fine,” he said as he pulled the blanket up.
