Chapter 246 Let Them Post the Photos
Winnie was on leave because she was injured and had to hold a funeral for her mother, and she was in a particularly bad mood.
This fire shook the entire city. Although it was a dilapidated old building, many residents still lived there before the fire. In this fire, seven died, nine were seriously injured, and twenty-three were slightly injured. It was very serious, which attracted the attention of the authorities.
They comforted the injured and sent men to find out the cause of the fire. However, the alley was narrow, and there were no surveillance cameras. In addition, it was already very late. Most of the residents there were asleep at this late hour, so no one knew why there was a fire. Anyway, when they found out, the fire was out of control.
The speculation, for now, was that the fire was caused by the aging of the wires. This explanation caused quite a stir. The public believed that it was a dereliction of duty and that the lack of maintenance on these old buildings led to such a tragedy.
The fire led to knock-on effects. Officials from top to bottom were held accountable, and maintenance and construction of other old residential areas followed. Recently, the TV news was basically all about the fire.
Silvia felt down, probably because she had witnessed the fire that day. Silvia almost couldn’t bear to watch the news. She turned off the TV and sighed.
Winnie was on leave, and Silvia had not come to the laboratory for three days.
She had no inspiration or ideas. Silvia’s mind was blank. She knew that she should not be influenced by emotions. Also, she should focus on Marsis soap. But she still could not control herself.
“The company will send someone to pay tribute at Winnie’s mother’s funeral.” In the past few days, Simon had been working from home, so that he could stay by Silvia’s side all day.
When Silvia was discharged from the hospital, the doctor said that she was not sick and only needed to rest. But Simon was still worried.
His care for her was always shown in practical actions.
With his laptop and mobile phone, Simon could work smoothly from home. There were just some meetings that had to be declined or delayed accordingly.
Silvia said with a nod, “OK. Is Freddie still staying with her?”
She had not seen Freddie for the past two days. Simon said that he had sent Freddie to take care of Winnie. This was
good.
Winnie had lived with her mother. Now that her mother had passed away, she must be lonely at home. Without anyone around, Winnie would let her imagination run wild. Although Freddie did not talk much, it was just good for Winnie to have his company now.
Freddie could take good care of Winnie and offer soothing companionship.
Simon nodded and replied, “Yes. Her rented flat was burned down. I asked Freddie to take her to a small apartment under my name.”
“Thank you so much!” Silvia was grateful. He did too much for her.
“It’s nothing! What do you want to eat today?” Simon asked softly, brushing her messy hair back.
Silvia shook her head. She had no appetite at all after going through all this.
“Maybe something that will give you an appetite. Or something sweet since I’m not in a good mood. It triggers a release of dopamine.” He paused and had an idea. “Blueberry pancakes?”
Looking into his eyes, Silvia smiled helplessly. Just as she was about to say something, Simon said, “Don’t say no!”
“Yes, I want to say that I like the idea. I want Blueberry pancakes.” Simon was so sweet. How could she say no to him?
Simon smiled in satisfaction and leaned over to kiss her cheek. “Wait for me!”
He got up and went to the kitchen. His phone rang. He picked it up and looked at it. It was his assistant calling. Simon answered the call. “Hello?”
“Mr. Palmer, that day at the hospital, a reporter took a photo of you,” said his assistant.
Simon was stunned and said indifferently, “Yes, I went there. So what?”
In any case, paparazzi were everywhere, and reporters just followed them. However, Simon believed that the reporter went to the hospital mainly to report on the fire. It was just a coincidence that he took the photos of Simon.
The assistant said, “But…”
Simon frowned and said, “If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t waste my time.”
“But the reporter took photos of you with a woman, and you two … seemed to be intimate.” The assistant was a little hesitant, but he still finished his sentence in one breath. After all, there had never been tidbits about him with any woman. The assistant was also very surprised to hear such news. “But the editors of several magazines and those media outlets are very wise. They keep the photos to themselves and come to ask for your opinion.”
Of course, they wouldn’t post the photos without Simon’s permission. Otherwise, if Simon was upset by them, he might shut them down right away.
Simon thought for a moment.
They played by the book. Simon turned to look outside the kitchen. In the living room, Silvia was sitting on the sofa with one hand on the back of the sofa. Her head was tilted to one side, and her long hair fell across her shoulder. She was wearing pink furry pajamas as usual. Simon found her cute just by looking at her back.
Simon withdrew his gaze and said flatly, “Don’t worry. Let them post the photos.”
“Mr. Palmer!” The assistant was shocked.
Originally, he thought that Simon would tell him to get the photos and delete them all. Unexpectedly, Simon did not care at all and even said, “Let them post the photos.”
This was unprecedented! The assistant guessed Simon was in love.
“That’s it.” When Simon was about to hang up, he thought of something and added, “Oh right, send me a copy of those photos later.”
Simon and Silvia had been together for a long time, but he had taken a photo with her. He was happy to have one.
Moreover…
After their relationship was exposed, Simon could use the photo of them as the background photo of his phone.
Siinon beamed with delight!
He washed his hands and began to make Silvia delicious pancakes.
However, what Simon did not know was that the photos taken by the reporter were not what he thought they were.
It was a mess that day. Simon and Silvia were at the door of the operating room, and there were bodyguards/outside stopping them, so the angle of the camera… The photos were misleading.
The photos would make people get a very wrong idea about the couple…
The photos also caused later misunderstandings.
of course, Simon did not know that at this time. He thought that it was some photos of him and Silvia. Nothing could be wrong. Anyway, the public would know about their relationship sooner or later. Simon never expected that the woman in the picture was not Silvia.
