Sweet Revenge

Chapter 289

Chapter 289 If This Is Your Choice
The annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce in LA was very lively. The outstanding talents of various industries would come. After all, it was a chance to have a social meetup with the business partners who had worked together this year. Moreover, they could find potential customers and perhaps get better investments.
At this party, Simon was naturally the focus. Many middle-sized companies who wanted to cooperate with Warin or hoped to get investments would try their best to curry favor with Simon.
Susan was a little nervous as she held the wine glass. She had been staring at Simon for a long time,
but for the time being, she could not find an opportunity to squeeze in and drag him out of the
crowd.
“It’s getting late.” Ingrid walked over and smiled as she looked ahead.
Her voice was not loud. Only they two could hear it. Of course, only the two of them could understand it.
“Yes, I know.” Susan pursed her lips. “There are too many people. I am waiting for an opportunity.”
“Waiting is not a good choice. If you keep waiting, he will probably leave.” Ingrid lowered her head and took a sip of wine. She still had a faint smile on her face as she greeted everyone around her.
Susan was actually struggling in her heart. She had made up her mind to do this today, but she still couldn’t help but feel a little afraid.
She had always loved and feared Simon. She had loved him for so many years, but when she faced him, she couldn’t help but feel shy.
Susan raised his head and gulped down a large mouthful of wine to boost her courage. “Remember
what we said!”
After saying that, she strode towards Simon.
When she was almost there, she took two glasses of wine from the waiter’s tray and stared at the man in front of her with a burning gaze. Her little finger touched the side of the glass and then pushed through the crowd to come to Simon. “Simon…”
Simon looked back and saw her.
“Simon, I was not sensible before. I did something that made you angry and was very impulsive. I hope you can forgive ine.” She handed him a glass of wine and said sincerely, “I hope that you can
be generous and accept my apology.”
Simon looked at her and politely took the glass, but he did not drink it. “You have grown up. You
should know what you are doing. It’s not so serious. I will still treat you as my sister.”
Hearing the word “sister”, Susan paused and said. “I understand. Then, if you forgive me, let’s
have a drink.”
As she spoke, she raised the glass in her hand.
“Susan, we two families are acquaintances. We don’t need to drink to make an apology.” He did not seem to have any intention of drinking it.
“No, we do!” She took a step forward and continued to stand in front of him, afraid that he would not drink. She raised her head and drank the wine in her glass. “I am sincere. I hope you can give us … give me a chance.”
She stared at the wine glass, as if she would not feel at ease if he did not drink it.
“Is that really necessary?” Simon raised his eyebrows and asked again.
Biting her lower lip, she insisted. “Yes, just this once!”
“If this is your choice…” After pondering for a moment, he said slowly, “Alright!”
Raising his head and drinking the wine in his glass, he raised his empty glass, “Is that enough?”
“Yes, yes.” Her voice was trembling a little. She probably did not realize that she didn’t feel at ease after he drank the wine. Instead, her heart beat faster.
He drank it. He really drank it. Everything was going according to her plan. Soon, it was going to be the most important step. She only hoped that she didn’t do anything wrong. She hoped that it would be the result she wanted.
It was nine o’clock, and dinner was at its peak. The banquet hall was bustling with noise. Of course,
some tired people went to their rooms to rest.
Susan had been keeping an eye on Simon’s movements. Fifteen minutes ago, he had already left the venue and gone to the resting room.
She had already gotten the room card in advance, 1808. She estimated the medicine should have worked, so she gave Ingrid a look and quietly left to the elevator.
Looking at her going away, Ingrid curled her lips and walked to the balcony to make a call. “Do it
now.”
After hanging up the phone, Ladarius quickly spread the news to the paparazzi, saying there would be explosive news in Room 1808 at Cloudy Hotel. Although he did not make it clear, the paparazzi were very sensitive to these things.
Regardless of whether it was true or not, it was necessary to make a trip.
In reality, even Ladarius did not know what the explosive news was. However, since Ingrid had
instructed him to do so, he did as instructed.
During the time he was working with Ingrid, he finally understood why he had failed before.
He was too simple. He thought he was an oriole, but he didn’t expect that he was just a mantis. He thought that Silvia was his prey, but he didn’t expect her to be a goshawk. Before, she was just sleeping soundly. When she woke up, she soared into the sky.
These past few days, he had thought things through very clearly. V.L was not important. He always wanted to expand his vision. Once he took over the Petersen family, he would have enough strength to contend against Simon. He thought, if I can get power from others, why do I have to work hard from the very beginning? In the past, I was too stupid.
Susan looked up at the room number 1808 and then looked at the room card in her hand. She took a deep breath and put the room card to the door lock. With a beep, the door opened.
There was no light in the room, and she did not dare to turn it on. If he woke up when the light was on, things would be difficult.
Under the dim light in the room, she could vaguely see a man sitting beside the bed. Obviously, he
was Simon.
Suppressing her excitement, Susan slowly walked toward him. However, there was something strange about it. She wondered, under the effect of the medicine, can he still maintain his calm and steady state?
The doubt in her heart flashed by. After all, she was about to achieve her goal. Her excitement still
concealed her other emotions.
“Simon…” Originally, she wanted to call him, but she was afraid that her identity would be revealed, so she did not say anything. She walked to him, bent down, and reached out to touch his face.
When she touched his cheek, she felt her heart miss a beat. Her fingers slid down his cheek and reached into the collar of his neck. She wanted to continue, but at that moment, her hand was suddenly pressed.
Susan was shocked.
She thought, according to the intensity of the drug, he should pounce on me and impatiently continue. However, he is so calm and doesn’t have the slightest intention of getting closer to me.
Just as Susan was wondering, the lamp on the bed was turned on, and the room was lit up!
