Chapter 438 Are You Insane?
Ladarius knew that Vicente was confused. Ladarius smiled carelessly. “Trust me or not, it depends on you. However, I am offering you a chance to choose your future life.”
Vicente felt both puzzled and tempted. How could he refuse such a good offer?
“What should I do?” Vicente swallowed and asked.
“I’ll let you go. Then you should surrender yourself to the police,” Ladarius said slowly. He looked into the distance instead of at Vicente. “You told the policemen that you added the prohibited ingredients, hired the perfumer, and gave instructions to Silvia in Warin.”
“Who in Warin?” Vicente asked in a daze.
“I will send you her photo. It is a trifle. It doesn’t matter that you don’t remember her name. However, you should tell the policemen that you are the culprit. Admit as many crimes as you can.”
Vicente looked at Ladarius with astonishment. “Don’t you try to ruin me in this way? Help me? What a joke! You must be sent by Ingrid to ruin me!”
Vicente thought, if I admit the guilt, won’t I be sent to prison? How can he help me out? This must
be a trap.
“I told you, whether to trust me or not, up to you!” Ladarius turned around and looked at Vicente. Sunlight behind Ladarius outlined his blurry figure, and Vicente couldn’t see his expression.
“Without absolute confidence, I wouldn’t make such a proposal. You admit your guilt, but that doesn’t mean you will be convicted. It will be more convincing when I overturn your case.”
He sounds reasonable. Vicente thought.
“Why did you help me? What do you
want?”
Vicente learned his lesson from what had happened recently. Vicente thought, there is no such thing as free lunch in this world. This man must want something in return though I don’t know
what it is.
He sided with Ingrid but turned to help me all of a sudden.
Not long ago, he joined hands with Ingrid to set me up. This man is sly. Vicente was in a dilemma.
However, Vicente had no alternative but to trust Ladarius at this moment.
“What I want is simple.” Ladarius took a few steps forward. Only then did Vicente see two broken chairs and a cabinet with a briefcase on it.
Ladarius took out a document, an ink pad, and a pen from that briefcase.
“Come here,” Ladarius said while looking at Vicente.
Vicente obediently walked over and took the document from Ladarius. “Sign this.”
“What is this?” Vicente lowered his head and glanced at the document. It took Vicente by surprise that the document was about stock transfer and the appointment.
Ladarius wanted 55% of the shares of the Petersen Group from Vicente and intended to work as the CEO of the Petersen Group.
“Are you insane?” Vicente raised his head in surprise. Vicente looked at Ladarius as he did a lunatic. “I don’t have so many shares. I have less than five percent!”
Vicente thought, I don’t need to fight against Ingrid if I had so many shares. I will have about 10% in total even if Dad gives me his. How can this lunatic ask me for so much?
back on
“You don’t have the shares now, but you will soon.” Ladarius was firm. “In case you go your word, sign now. After you sign, both of us can rest assured.”
“Are you sure?” Vicente raised his eyebrows and thought, it is suspicious.
With 55% shares, I will be the leader of the Petersen Group. As the owner of the Petersen Group, I won’t give a damn about the job title.
Vicente just wanted to climb up, replace Ingrid step by step, and then control the group. Never had Ladarius imagined that he would have so many shares.
It is my dream. Can this be true? Vicente wondered.
Ladarius looked serious. Vicente held the pen and hesitated.
Vicente thought, I don’t have so many shares now, but what if Ladarius said is true? In that case, Ladarius will get the whole company through this document. I will have nothing on my plate in the end. Can I accept this futile result?
I didn’t know that this man was so greedy. I thought that all he wanted was a high position, for example, general manager. However, he wants the whole group.
“No?” Noticing Vicente’s hesitation, Ladarius smiled. “Understandable. It won’t be easy for one to give up such a fortune.
“You may leave here without signing the document. If so, you will probably spend most of your life in prison. Your crime is not that grave, but I know that your sister has hired the best lawyer to keep you in prison as long as possible. In that case, you will still end up with nothing.”
This speech was like a thorn that pierced Vicente’s heart.
Vicente thought, Indeed, I have nothing now. That fortune is nothing but a figure when what he said hasn’t happened.
I won’t be the owner of that fortune either way, so why should I hesitate?
I have freedom, at least, after signing this document. If so, I still have a chance to knock Vicente
down in the future.
Vicente weighed the pros and cons and quickly made a decision.
Vicente picked up the pen, signed his name on the document, and left his fingerprint.
Ladarius carefully checked the agreement and then put it away. With a smile, Ladarius said, “Mr. Petersen, you may go home now. Sorry for what you suffered in the past few days. Take a good rest at home and then turn yourself in.”
“Will you help me as you promised?” Vicente looked at Ladarius with doubt. Vicente didn’t trust
Ladarius.
Ladarius laughed. “Don’t worry. Don’t you trust the stuff you just signed? How can I get what I want if I don’t help you?”
Ladarius patted his briefcase where the document was. That briefcase was his treasure now.
Vicente pondered for a moment and chose to believe that Ladarius wouldn’t do anything useless.
