Chapter 17 A Game Of Cat And Mouse

Amanda was out shopping with her friend, Daniela Mason, in high spirits after having successfully dealt with

the Harper family.

She watched on with a smile as Daniela excitedly tried on a necklace, casually twirling the shiny black card in

her fingers.

This was the card Elliot had given her, and it had no spending limit. The sky was the limit–literally.

Amanda had learned from Elliot’s maid that Elliot had never gifted Corynn anything; everything Corynn had done previously had been of her own volition.

Initially, Amanda was under the impression that Elliot didn’t give a damn about Corynn–that Corynn was just a passing whimsy to him. So, she had never considered Corynn a real threat.

But now, things were different.

She had been wrong about Corynn; that woman was her biggest threat.

Tapping her perfectly manicured fingers on the acrylic display case, she glanced at the watch on her wrist, which was worth millions. A smile crept on her face.

It was time.

After parking her car outside the mall, Corynn double checked the address Amanda had sent and then entered the mall. She scanned the stores on either side and soon spotted the jewelry store Amanda had mentioned near the other mall entrance.

But by the time she arrived, Amanda was gone.

She asked the nearest store clerk about Amanda, only to learn that the latter had left just a minute before.

Corynn’s grip tightened around her phone.
