Chapter 33 Unsettling Silence

Corynn pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes.

She wasn’t sure whether she should be angry or relieved.

On the one hand, the man she had slept with was no stranger at all. On the other, she had just got herself

entangled with Elliot yet again.

She waved Lila away with a weary sigh. She needed some time to sort her thoughts and feelings out.

Deep down, Corynn knew she could only blame herself for getting so drunk. Besides, given their history, confronting Elliot about the incident was simply out of the question.

In the end, she decided to just move on and pretend that nothing happened.

It wasn’t as if she had incurred much loss, anyway.

The days that followed were surprisingly calm. The Willis family had been silent since the last trick they had pulled on her, and Amanda hadn’t made any contact, either. For some reason, Corynn found the silence on their end rather unsettling.

As the day of the product launch approached, she became quite apprehensive.

If Amanda was actually planning to retaliate, the launch would be the perfect time to do it.

Considering how their camp had been keeping a low profile, there was a high chance that they were waiting for the right time to strike.

Meanwhile, on the Elliot front, Corynn had been expecting him to cause some ruckus after their most recent encounter. Luckily, he stayed on his lane and behaved.
