Chapter 41 Beating The Scumbag

Just then, Sofia’s phone pinged; it was a text from Chase. Reading the guy’s reply, Corynn could easily imagine the smug expression on Chase’s stupid face.

She was the one who had decided on the time and place–nine o’clock in the evening at an abandoned

warehouse in the suburbs.

Chase had agreed to her invitation without hesitation, likely because he believed that Sofia was too weak to

pose any threat.

And as expected, his overconfidence played right into Corynn’s hands.

That afternoon, Corynn prepared the things she’d need for tonight’s meeting: a sack and two bats. She even wrapped each bat in a thick towel so as to avoid leaving any marks when they beat Chase with it.

At nine o’clock sharp, Corynn and Sofia showed up at the warehouse to wait for Chase.

Chase arrived a full half–hour later, his oily black hair tied back in a tuft and a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looking every bit the delinquent.

Seeing Sofia, he took the cigarette out of his mouth and grinned, asking, “Sofia, have you finally come to terms

with it?”

Chase was kind of handsome, which was likely why Sofia had fallen for him in the first place.

“Why are you so mad? Every man cheats. Besides, I already told you that you’re the one I truly love,” he added

loftily.

Sofia stood glued to her spot, trembling with rage.

She had never encountered someone so brazenly shameless before.
