Chapter 62 A Single, Two- letter Word

“Hey, you always do this!” Shirley scolded Corynn lightheartedly, feigning anger. “You always play deaf when we talk about this.”

As expected, Corynn grabbed her blanket and pulled it over her face, pretending not to hear her mother’s

complaints.

Shirley promptly yanked the blanket away and said with a pout, “I’m serious! Jason’s a good man. You can’t make him wait too long!”

Hoping that agreeing perfunctorily would get her mother off her back, Corryn begrudgingly nodded in response. “Just… think about it carefully,” Shirley said with a resigned sigh. “I’ll come back this afternoon to check on you. With an army of bodyguards standing outside, Shirley felt at ease leaving her daughter alone at the hospital. Corynn lay there, eyes closed, contemplating Shirley’s words. Jason had indeed been waiting for her answer for so long, and he had done a lot for her.

Besides, Jason was a good choice on paper.

But Corynn couldn’t get over the fact that she had no romantic feelings for him, especially since she had recently gotten entangled with Elliot again.

As these messy thoughts plagued her mind, Corynn let out a heavy sigh.
