Chapter 70 Give It A Try

Corynn awoke and noticed a new notification on her phone. Curious, she tapped it open and was confronted with a zoomed–in intimate photo.

In the image, Amanda’s eyes sparkled with a victorious glearn.

From what could be seen, Elliot seemed to be completely unclothed.

Corynn shut her phone, maintaining a neutral face, yet she couldn’t suppress an inward snicker.

Just a day ago, Elliot had been declaring his affection for her, and yet here he was, evidently with Amanda by

nightfall.

How absurd it all was!

How could she have let herself trust Elliot’s promises once more after so many letdowns?

Corynn shook her head slightly. A scornful laugh escaped her lips as she derided her own gullibility.

But then, she had decisively turned Elliot down recently. Why should she be bothered about whom he was with now, particularly since Amanda was engaged to him?

Their being together was, after all, to be expected.

As Corynn pushed aside her lingering thoughts of Elliot, she felt a weight lift from her chest.

Her mood lightened up just as the nurse came in to change her bandages. Shortly afterward, Jason showed up, carrying breakfast.
