“Understood,” Kaden replied and then drove away from the Andrews residence.

Elliot reclined in his seat, resting his head on his elbow against the window, a shadow crossing his features.

“Mr. Andrews, are we still heading to the hospital?” Kaden inquired.

Elliot tapped on the window rhythmically with his index finger, glanced at his watch–it was already five in the afternoon–and made a decision. “Let’s head to Lark Villa instead,” he directed. He figured Corynn would be awake by now, but knowing her, she probably wouldn’t want to see him.

“Okay.” Kaden made a U–turn and steered towards Lark Villa.
