Chapter 43

Eloise was tired. But at night, she twisted and turned in her bed, unable to catch some sleep. Every time she was just about to drift off to sleep, she would feel herself being tightly held by a strong pair of arms. A man softly called out her name, "Eloise..."

This would jolt her awake instantly.

In the dimly lit bedroom, only the moonlight seeped in through the cracks of the curtains, casting a soft glow that made the room seem blurry.

Eloise sat up, lightly touching her face. This was no dream. She was in Harvey's place, lying on his bed.

The bedroom door creaked open. Harvey returned after finishing his tasks and he was ready to hit the hay. Upon entering, he saw Eloise sitting on the bed. Her face was blank, looking like a lost puppy.

Harvey dismissed the idea of switching on the lights. He sat down by the bed, and gently stroked her soft hair, "Why are you still up?"

Following his touch, Eloise leaned onto his shoulder.

Harvey knew what she wanted to ask. He whispered into her ear, "I've already made arrangements, and I'll personally go tomorrow morning. If nothing goes south, he should be able to get out."
