Harvey stepped out of the private room. He was wearing a white shirt, smeared with blood-most of it Max's. He lit a cigarette in the corridor and puffed away in silence.

Though he despised Max, he had to admit that some of Max's words were true. His relationship with Eloise, seemingly equal, was, in reality, her making all the compromises. Due to their difference in background, he took her sacrifices for granted, never really considering them.
