Maynard‘s POV:

He had only sat comfortably, unlike before, when he was trying to get away from me when I saw Christina walk into the bar and look around. She was probably searching for me because the instant her eyes landed on me, she smiled weakly.

I gave her a faint smile and expected her to stay there and wait for me, but that didn‘ t happen.

I watched her walk over in my direction and shook my head at her. I didn’t want her to interrupt us, but she came, anyway.
