Chapter 899

Lucius hated Clara and Dylan more than anyone else in the world. Losing both his sons because of them left him seething with a rage he could barely contain- sometimes he wished he could tear Dylan apart with his bare hands.

Everyone knew how much Dylan loved Clara. So now, with Dylan gone, if Lucius could ruin the woman he loved in the worst way possible, he knew not even hell would give Dylan peace. Just imagining it filled Lucius with a twisted kind of satisfaction.

"I heard all about your little stunt at the gala," Lucius said, his lips curling into a sneer. "Didn't peg you for such a fighter. But I've brought thirty men with me today. You really think you can take us all? Ever since Dylan died, Palm Bay went to pieces. The staff scattered like rats from a sinking ship-there's barely anyone left guarding the place."

Clara's heart pounded so hard she felt it in her chest. He wasn't wrong-Palm Bay used to be locked down tight, with security everywhere, even in the shadows. Someone like Lucius would never have gotten in. But after Dylan's accident, everyone had just... disappeared.

She blinked back tears and glared at Lucius. "Palm Bay belongs to Dylan. Even if he really is dead, you have no right to touch it."

Lucius laughed, cold and cruel. "You really don't get the Ferguson family rules, do you? Palm Bay doesn't belong to Dylan-it belongs to the family heir. Dylan's gone, so the heir isn't him anymore. Which means Palm Bay is ours again. The staff will all be gone by tonight. And you, Clara-tsk, Michael was right. Everyone's dying to know what it's like to have the woman Dylan slept with. Even if I let you go, you'll see how many people are waiting for you outside."

He threw his head back and laughed, savoring every second. Who would've thought Dylan would end up like this?

The lawyers behind him stepped up. "Ms. Clara, according to the law, Palm Bay now belongs to the Ferguson family. Mr. Dylan has passed away. We need you to leave the premises and not come back."
