The Almighty Dragon General

The colossal energy ball revealed that he was standing in the center of Tai Chi, surrounded by countless majestic Genesis powers.
In the void, a resonant voice presented him with a choice to either return along the original path or become one of the Eighty-one Great Heavenly Paths beneath Tai Chi.
Simultaneously, other living beings also underwent the Heavenly Path Selection, where they were required to make the same choice.
At the same time, the powerful illusory voice enumerated the benefits of the Heavenly Path. Besides gaining endless boons and the Heavenly Path Power, one could command all the laws and destinies of a realm's living beings.
Additionally, certain living beings burdened with curses and soul contracts could be automatically released upon ascending to the Heavenly Path. The only requirement was the complete severance of all ties with the past and present, forever renouncing the seven emotions and six desires.
Watching the living beings in the energy ball, James felt even more nervous than they did. “This is truly a grand boon. Ascending to the Heavenly Path in a realm is a dream providence sought by many living beings. It must not be missed."
Hearing James' words, the two elders in black and white robes smiled mysteriously. Meanwhile, Rebella kept her eyes fixed on the energy balls. She muttered softly, "Some of them will come back. They'll find that staying with you is less worrying and more interesting."
Upon hearing this, James turned to her and asked, "Does that include you?"
Rebella was stunned and then lowered her head awkwardly, emitting a very soft hum.
Looking at the energy balls in the void, James sighed gently. "Everyone has their own aspirations. I hope they can make their truest choices. I'll support them regardless of what they choose."

"You're quite easy-going!" The white-robed elder chuckled, then asked, "If given the choice, what would you do?"
"I wouldn't become a Heavenly Path living being, of course," James responded without hesitation. "It means being alone. Even if I get to control the laws of all living beings and the natural principles, what's the point of it all without family, friends, and all matters and emotions?
"Take my wife as an example. Our family would feel as if it had scattered if she became a Heavenly Path living being."
Upon hearing this, the white-robed elder laughed heartily, "She wasn't selected. It's destiny."
"Absurd destiny," retorted James. "Can I resign from the Heavenly Path?"
“You have that option for the Eighty Heavenly Paths and below, but not for the Four Extremes Heavenly Path," explained the black-robed elder deliberately.
James pursed his lips and said no more.
Just then, Truett was the first to make a choice. "I choose to return along the original path!"
Hearing the words emanating from the energy ball, James and the others were momentarily stunned.
"Isn't becoming a Heavenly Path living being good?" asked the resonant voice in the void. "You can command the laws of everything in a realm."
Truett spread his hands inside the energy ball, smiling cynically as he said, "There's no James, my father, my brothers, or friends! If I truly ascend to the Heavenly Path, I have to sever all ties and forget them. This is more painful than death."
"So, you have no regrets?" inquired the majestic voice in the void.
"No," replied Truett without hesitation. "Please send me back."
As soon as he finished speaking, a flash of white light shone from within Tai Chi, and Truett disappeared instantly.
"I knew he would choose this." James laughed at this scene. "I understand my brother the best! We have the same personality. How else could we get along so well at first sight?"
Seeing James' proud face, the black-robed and white-robed elders shook their heads with a wry smile.
