Then, Xaiden turned around and strode toward the door. The other grand patriarchs and cultivators quickly followed him out of the Telhervo Hall as well.
Mattaniah snorted. “How can they act so brazenly?"
“They have always been like this." Yegor said frigidly, "On the surface, they are the virtuous and respected grand patriarchs belonging to different sects. You'll see they are all hypocrites when the situation involves something they are after."
Herodias cast her gaze at James. "You won't be able to stop them since there are too many of their men here today, James.
"The three of us can protect you from these men. However, we won't be able to do the same for her since she's made too many enemies up to this point."
James smiled faintly. "Lady Herodias, I am grateful for your help, and I understand that you are all in a tough spot now. I've given this serious thought. The worst thing that can happen is just me dying and losing all my powers."
Mattaniah's brows lifted. "Do you still plan to help her?! What exactly is your relationship with the Dark Heavenly Path?"
Yegor directed his gaze at James. "If you insist on doing it, Skynet will help you with your plan!"

Herodias snapped, "Yegor, you're not helping! Do you seriously want to see James risk his life?!"
"Well, who's the cause of all this?" Yegor glared at her. "If it weren't because you had stubbornly insisted on having this grand ceremony, would we have ended up in this situation?"
Herodias was rendered speechless.
Yegor stared into the distance and said slowly, "I simply want to return the favor after receiving so much help from him. Moreover, I'm also a human and a leader..."
"Mr. Yegor!" James called out to him, "I am happy that you are willing to do so much for me. However, I must decline your offer this time.
"I have befriended you and Truett since we share the same ambitions and beliefs. I have never expected anything in return from our friendship.
"I will do what I believe is right. No one can force me into doing anything.
"Even though I am not powerful enough, I have not once bowed down to my enemies. I have experienced and survived various challenges with my grit and persistence."
Yegor had a stern look on his face. "Do you know what it means if you insist on doing this?"
James beamed. "I would feel like a failure if I chose to run away just to stay alive."
“You could sacrifice yourself for the love of your life." Yegor argued, “Then, why can't we do the same for you, who's our loyal friend?"
Suddenly, James got down on his knees.
“James, what are you doing?" Yegor exclaimed.
