Once again, James fell silent. He was not worried about Taiyi being too strong of an opponent. Instead, he was torn between going after Xanthakos or Taiyi first.
If he handled Taiyi first, it would allow Xanthakos to seize the Wuia Palace and the Path Designation Bead.
If James were to target Xanthakos instead, the latter would have snuck into the Jawdat Region. It might be impossible for James to track him down now.
James needed to acquire the Supreme Path's Five Gates belonging to the Five Path Emperors now, the Xyloria Taichu Pearl, and the Xyloria Taiyi Pearl.
If any of those items were missing, he would not be able to enter the Gate of Wuia and stop Xanthakos.
James was facing a dilemma, and it was most likely Xanthakos' schemes that put James in a tight spot.

Xanthakos probably came up with this plan early on. That was why he was so persistent in getting James to leave the Gate of Mystery.
Fortunately, James had left one of his selves inside the Gate of Mystery.
Yet, it was a shame he could not find out more about Xanthakos' movements and whereabouts through the other self.
Thus, he would not be able to determine the best time to leave the Gate of Mystery to stop Xanthakos.
James started pacing back and forth slowly with a pensive look on his face.
Meanwhile, Taichu, Thea, and the four Path Emperors blinked and glanced at each other awkwardly. They were at a loss for what to do to help the troubled James.
On the other hand, Morgott, Yianni, and Harper had deep frowns on their foreheads.
The James they knew was a strong-willed, intelligent, and visionary man.
This was the first time they saw him waver over an issue for so long.
James finally said sometime later, "Have all our men head to the border of the Taiyi Daonus Realm and stand by for battle."
Taichu was the first to express her concern.
"Divine Emperor, are we seriously going to wage war against the Taiyi Daonus Realm?"
"Can we really go up against them?" Emperor Cosimeon knitted his brows. " Wouldn't we be sacrificing our men needlessly by doing this?"
Lord Goyo fixed his gaze on James. "James, can we try to have a conservation with Taiyi first?
